A Little Cozy Time...

Even though it's far from cold here in the Coastal Empire, it IS much cooler than it was a few months ago...and it can be downright chilly at night.  During the day, I often feel like being cozy and comfy with a good book and a cup of tea.  I have several different cozy spots around here to choose from...which one looks good to YOU?

This is the chaise lounge chair in our t.v. room, which is actually part of the bedroom.  The dog is just begging me to sit down and hold her:

This cozy spot is on our third floor.  It's a daybed with several big comfy pillows and a duvet to recline upon.

Then there is always the upstairs porch...sitting in the sun feels good this time of year.

The weather really has been dee-light-ful lately.  Last night, we drove downtown and went to Leopold's for ice cream (I had a hot fudge sundae) and we walked around a bit.  The Savannah Film Festival was going on and tons of people were waiting to get in to see...something or another...I don't know what.  We also walked by where Robert Redford is filiming his movie "The Conspirator" and we got to see some of the actors waiting around in costume and we observed a scene being filmed.  Very interesting stuff.  It sure is fun living here where there is always something going on...a far cry from the sad, old, boring town we used to live in... 
  
 

Blog Murder...

Tap, tap, tap...is this thing on??  Hello??  Hmmmmm.  Serious frustration here once again with blogging.  Not sure if I want to stumble onward, or throw this blog off of a high building somewhere.  How do you kill a blog, by the way?  Stab it, poison it, shoot it? Or will it die quietly from neglect?  If I don't feed it, water it, pet it and play with it, will it just fade away? Is there a law against blogacide?  Or is it...as I suppose...no crime at all to do away with a blog that no one reads or has any interest in anyway?  If no one will miss it...can you get rid of it neatly and cleanly with no mess, no fuss?  I'm sure you can...I'm sure that I can...I just have to gather my courage and DO IT.  Yeah.  Or maybe I can hire someone to do it.  Yeah.  Wonder how much a blog killer for hire would charge?

Gypsy Bohemian Lamp...

I guess I'm on a lamp kick lately.  The marble and brass lamp I won at an auction a few weeks back had a really crappy shade on it, so I tore off the fabric part and kept the frame...which is a nice heavy metal.  I think I posted a picture of it a while back...anyhoo, I decided to do something with it so I scrounged around and found some over dyed velvet fabric that I've had for ages, and some scraps of lace which had been coffee dyed at some point in the past...I got out my hot glue gun and went to town gluing strips of velvet and threading in the lace pieces.  I liked it, but it lacked something...hmmmmm...what could it be?  I went through more of my stash of odds and ends and found some nice dangly beads on a ribbon and attached that to the bottom of the shade...VOILA!  That made it perfect.  Here for your viewing pleasure is my Gypsy Boho Lamp:

Coffee Talk...

Hi...pull up a chair and join us for a chat. I'll yak about anything...just pick a subject. 

This is how I like my coffee.  Brown sugar and a fair amount of half-n-half.  

Say "HI" to my friend.  He doesn't say much, but it's nice to have a guest.

I haven't been doing much these days with my art.  I want to make stuff, but somehow I lack motivation.  This is my cloth and clay doll that I started months and months ago...I don't think I'll ever finish her:

Here's a blurry sort of picture of my new buffet/server.  It's finally in the house where it belongs instead of in the garage (see previous post on that subject):

On a totally random topic, I've been on a root beer kick lately.  I'm trying to find the perfect root beer and so far, I've been disappointed.  I may resort to making my own...has anyone tried that???

 
I like it with some flavor and most are too mild for me...I'll keep looking, I guess.
