I think I'm rethinking the whole "make a door into a headboard" thing. I know...I was all chuffed about it at first, but now I'm really waffling about it. For one thing, that door is HEAVY, which makes it a real challenge to wrassle it around to paint it and whatnot. I really like the idea of making a headboard that has quilt batting and fabric over a piece of wood or MDF. Cork sounds kind of neat, too. There are tons of ideas out there, so I may have to check into a few before I make my final choice. Suggestions are welcome!

I love the idea of a fabric headboard, especially in a rich, sumptuous fabric like velvet. I have a sleigh bed with attached headboard that I absolutely adore, but if I was looking to furnish a second bed (say for a guest room) I would be very tempted to go with a fabric one. No matter what you do, I'm sure it will look very pretty!
